Despite the emotional whiplash of 2018, we all made it to the new year! We lived through the glory and the horror of #MeToo, #TimesUp, #BelieveSurvivors and the media firestorm that seemed to never end. 2019 is our year to reclaim our lives.
Bystander Effect
We open in The Proper Bar. Stan and Ty, two men we’ve seen before, are hanging out. They’re both openly gay. As John and Umberto walk in together on a date, Stan expresses surprise to Ty that John is out. Stan and Ty try to figure out if John and Umberto are on a date, and are positive about it when they realize they are. John seems awkward.
Why Am I With This Person?
We open in a hallway with our male narrator introducing the topic of the video: healthy and unhealthy relationships, and equality in them. We then see a heterosexual couple arguing about the female spending too much time with a guy who is not her boyfriend.
Healthy Relationships
We open in a dorm room, under the covers with Maddie and Carlo.
They’re laughing and clearly having a great time. Maddie initiates a conversation about an adult video she saw and they have a short discussion about how it helped her think about sexual activities she wanted to try with Carlo.
He’s Not Ready For You Yet
As the video opens, we see John on the basketball court. He’s got moves – he can play for sure. We then cut to John in the coffee shop playing guitar by himself at a table. A group of women at a nearby table eye him, as he’s a handsome man. He smiles but clearly isn’t interested in them.
You Aren’t Your Numbers
We begin in a dorm room with Willa, Maddie, and Nora. Willa is getting ready for a date and is visibly nervous. Maddie and Nora reassure her as Jaxon, Willa’s date, arrives.
You Gotta Be Good With You
We open with Maddie, Willa, and Nora walking down a hallway. Nora shares a story about a guy they know who reported that he had an STI/STD to his former partner. Willa expresses concern about what he might have had. Maddie and Nora ask why Willa is curious, and she hedges about whether she hooked up with him. Maddie and Nora push her to explain.
Sex vs Sexuality
This video opens with an introduction to three core concepts: sex, gender, and sexuality. Our male narrator briefly introduces the core biological differences between cisgendered male and female bodies.
Survivors Guide to Handling the Holidays
Family holidays like Christmas can be really difficult for survivors of sexual violence. Anything can happen, from hearing a triggering holiday song to seeing the relative that assaulted them.
